So I just got home from work about forty minutes ago and I made myself a nice, hot bowl of chili and poured a glass of peach tea. The chili was really yummy considering that my mother made it and she’s the best cook ever, but it was a little too spicy. Or was it not spicy enough?

Work today was okay, I guess. There’s two new girls and drama is already starting to happen. But this older woman who has worked there longer than I have, well, she just really pissed me off tonight. She supposedly had a wicked bad attitude earlier today with a cashier who is the same age as her. This time she did it to me and I went off on her in front of the customers and everything. Not very professional, I know, but I never did anything to her. She needs to be bitch slapped, seriously.

Anyway, I brought Lyra to the doctor on the 7th of January to get her second dose of the flu shot. Well, my dad doesn’t take my little sisters to the doctor’s and claims they are healthier than kids who do go see a doctor. I think he is right. The day after Lyra got her second dose of the flu shot, she had a super bad cough and she kept playing with her ears. I took her back to the doctor’s on the 9th of January to see what was wrong. The doctor, whom isn’t Lyra’s original doctor, just gave her a decongestant and sent us home. Lyra never got better. So I took her back to the doctor’s on the 14th of January (it’s amazing how I remember all of these dates) and she got to see her original doctor which made me super-dee-dooper happy! Her doctor said Lyra had an ear infection in both ears and bronchitis. Then she checked me and I had bronchitis, too! What the hell!

Lyra is now on amoxicillin and I’m on some medicine called zithromax. It must be pretty darn strong because I only take it once a day for five days. Lyra has to take her medicine twice a day for ten days. I really do hope she gets better! She’s been acting her normal self this whole time though. I just feel horrible that I let this happen to her. I thought she would never get sick, even though she’s had a sinus infection before and that was way more worse than this, but ear infections? :(

Except that I severely dislike even numbered years. And every new year hurts my feelings because, well, I don’t know why.

But this means a month and thirteen days until Lyra’s first birthday. Time goes by too fast!

Here are the Christmas pictures I promised. There’s people shooting fireworks outside. But no pictures of that. :)
