You are teaching me, day by day.
I’ve been a little stressed lately. I promised to stay with my dad and step-mom until they had their new baby so I could help with the birth, but I’m going back to North Carolina two weeks before the due date. My biological mother has to come pick me up to bring Lyra and me back home, so we have to leave on “her time”. I’m not the type of person to hurt anyone’s feelings and I have sincerely hurt my dad’s and step-mom’s.
It’s breaking my heart because I just like everything to be peaceful and for everyone to be happy. If I stay here in Illinois until the baby is born, I’ll be helping a LOT and I’ll be making my parents happy. If I leave with my mom back to North Carolina, I’ll be making her happy. She doesn’t understand why I need to stay here for the baby though. My parents do natural child birth, the Bradley Method. It is absolutely crucial that I help because it’s too short notice to get somebody else.
Anyway, that’s all that’s been bugging me lately. I’ve been working on my websites and transferring the domains to a new server because the one I was on wouldn’t update the name servers.
Hopefully they will update after they transfer. Below are the Friday 5 questions! Answer them when you leave a comment, please!
- What are your feelings about milk?
- What are your feelings about cheese?
- What are your feelings about yogurt?
- How do you feel about soy milk?
- How far are you from the nearest cow?
Milk is ultimately bad for you and your bones.
The cheese that I eat has to be melted.
Honey nut cheerios, please!
I love soy milk!
There’s cows every where here. <3

With my jewel encrusted crown.
I’ve been reading some articles that include tips on how to save more money. Who wouldn’t want to save money, right? I thought I was doing pretty good with managing all of my finances until this article mentioned something about having the lowest costing cell phone.
My cell phone bill is approximately $145.56 every month. Why is it such a high number? Let me break it down.
- My account has a total of two phones on it; my mother’s and mine.
- My mother has a cheapy phone because she old and doesn’t care (Sorry, mom!
). - I decided that the Razr phone sucks and went out and bought a Blackberry.
- And I also decided that I must have every feature available for the Blackberry.
So with the monthly charge for just the regular plan (which is the cheapest plan!), that’s $50.00 + $9.99 for the added line. We have the family messaging unlimited for $30.00/month. Lord knows that if we didn’t have unlimited, our bill would be a whole lot more. Then I have the Blackberry personal features for another $30.00/month and two answer tones for $0.99 each. That’s $121.97 for what I mentioned, but then add the government fees and taxes and our crazy urge to purchase ringtones and you get the forementioned grand total of $145.56!
I have tried figuring out ways to make the bill cheaper by still allowing me to have my Blackberry personal features, but in the end, we’ll only save $5.00!
I either need to learn to live without my Blackberry (Noo!
) or get a better paying job so I’m not broke by the end of the month! haha.
Weird how I thought I would be giving you all tips on how to save money and I ended up talking about how my cell phone bill is ridiculously high. I’ll give you some tips of mine from experience.
- Clip coupons and use them at every chance you get. However, do not buy a product just because you have a coupon for it, if you don’t really need it.
- Buy store/home brand products. Most of the time they are just as good as name brand, they’re just a lot cheaper. Then use the coupons for those products and you just saved more!
- Recycle your clothes. I sell clothes, handbags, and other things on eBay that could be useful to someone else. Whatever money I make from selling on eBay, I use to buy new things. Basically, it’s not like I’m using “new money” to buy “new clothes”. If that makes sense.
- Do not rent movies! I’m a member of Netflix on the lowest plan that they have and it’s significantly cheaper than renting movies from a video store. Even with the more expensive plans, you can get 2 DVDs at a time, unlimited, for the entire month at a low price of $13.99! Compare that to renting at a video store…
- Store your cooked meals for the future! When you cook a meal for a night, make double the recipe that you would normally cook. You can serve half of it the night you prepare it and then freeze the other half for a future date. It actually saves time, not only money. This is really useful when you have children, trust me.
- Don’t give in to impulse. I “shop online” for everything except groceries. Actually, I add everything that I really love and want to my cart and then look at how much it would cost me if I would buy it all. When I see that number, it makes me think, “Why do I need this or that?”. Most of the time, I can find reasons or excuses why I don’t need the items and I end up not buying it.
- Create your own energy in the morning. Do not run straight to Starbucks for your favorite grande white mocha frappuccino! You’re basically just paying for the cup. And if you bring your own cup to Starbucks, yes, you save a whole 10 cents; but you’re still wasting your money when you could be at home eating a yummy nutritious breakfast such as oatmeal with blueberries. That will give you enough energy to last you without the adrenaline crash and it’ll save you $4-$5 bucks a day.
This post is getting pretty long now. I’ll have more tips for saving money and whatnot in a future entry.
It’s time for you guys to answer some questions!
- What kind of cell phone do you have?
- Are you good at saving your money?
- What kind of tips do you have for everyone?

New domain.
So after all that downtime due to my host switching servers, I thought about a new domain. Obviously it’s the one you’re on right now.
I’m going to use eatzombies.net as my collective as originally planned and this domain will be my blog. I have a ton to do for all these sites!
On a different subject, I submitted for financial aid at about 1:00am! I really hope I qualify for it because I can’t afford to pay for college.
The neat thing about it is that since I am employed by Food Lion, I can get grants from them. Oh, and I’m a single, teenage mother. That does not mean all of you youngin’s should go out and have a baby!
Goodness, I feel like 6-years ago I had more to blog about. I guess I will just get some Friday 5 questions to answer. And you all should answer, too, when you leave a comment. I’d like to learn more about my visitors!
- What’s something you will not eat unless you also have ketchup?
I don’t think there any food for me. - What’s something you will not drink unless it is served on ice cubes?
peach tea! - What’s something you will not eat unless it is served between slices of bread?
cheese, probably.
- What’s something you will not drink unless you have a straw?
any canned drinks, but i never drink those. - What’s something else you will not eat except under very specific circumstances?
CHEESE. It must be melted cheese!

Transfers.
Recently I have been annoyed with my website. I just found out that my host switched servers without giving any warning to me. I did have more comments on my previous blog entry, but they got deleted with the transfer. So I can’t comment those sites back unless I can remember who commented, which is highly unlikely.
My hostees who own a domain are “suspended” because they haven’t propagated yet, even though it’s been 3-days and my site has propagated.
I’m just agitated that this is happening. I don’t like it when my hostees are unhappy because their website is down and it’s not even my fault.
I think everyone, especially the hostees, should follow EZ Hosting on Twitter to get the updates on the “status” of the domains.
That’s all for now. I’ll blog for real when this whole transfer thing finally ends and everything is fixed.

A Thousand Voices, Are You Listening?
Regarding my previous post, I have decided to go to college in North Carolina because I really, really miss my boyfriend.
That’s probably the lamest excuse ever, but it’s an excuse nonetheless. I’m supposed to return after my step-mother has her new baby, but I honestly do not want to wait until then. I have deadlines to meet that require me to be at the college in person. Oh yeah, and I miss my boyfriend.
You’ve got to love me!
Oh, you should check out thefamouslp.com! There’s not much on there right now, but there will be pictures and videos of Lyra and her friends just being silly toddlers. I’m actually editing a video as I type this.
When I can figure out how to add my own stuff to the sidebar on that site, the advertisements in my sidebar will be displayed over on Lyra’s site, too.
I added back the icons that I deleted when I installed WordPress! I just didn’t add the celebrity ones because I’ve been reading some really great blogs about using celebrity images. I’m currently in the process of ridding all of my graphics that have any celebrities… which means the forums need a new header.
I need some website names that have any day of the week in the name. I guess this will be a mini contest! You may give as many suggestions as you can possibly think of and if I choose your suggestion, you will receive free advertising for 2 months. Sound good, maybe?
No, I’m not telling anyone what I need the name for until I actually set it all up.
What do you think is interesting when visiting a site which is a personal blog?

Hey, I'm Kerri and I am the webmistress of this blog! I am a young mother of two children and one on the way! I'm working towards becoming a wedding and event planner in the near future, but I also build a lot of websites for no reason and I like to drink coffee. :)
