10 iPhone Apps That I Love!
HootSuite Lite – Free!
I have been using HootSuite since it was born, or maybe close to it. It’s a social media app. I have my Twitter account and Facebook page synced to it. You can schedule tweets and status updates for a later date, share your photos, create custom views for tags and searches, and so much more! Unfortunately, the “lite” version only supports up to 3 accounts.
Flickr – Free!
Who wouldn’t love the Flickr app?! Okay, that’s debatable, but still. You have your whole Flickr account at your finger tips! Take a picture and upload it right then and there.
iStudiez Pro – $2.99
Ahh, life as a college student! I downloaded this app because it had a really good ratings and helpful reviews. You can add your course schedule for the semester, professors/instructors, assignments, and now it even supports grades and GPA! My favorite part is that you can color code each class, but I’m just a geek.
This is also available in a “lite” version for free.
iRewardChart – $4.99
I was having such a hard time with Lyra… getting her to use the potty, sleep in her own bed, etc… until I found this app! You add your child(ren), then add some tasks, and start rewarding them some stars! Once they accumulate a certain amount of stars, they can “redeem” them for prizes or other neat things that YOU specify in the app. Lyra likes to trade in her stars for those silly bands, haha! This is also available in a “lite” version for free.
Period Tracker Deluxe – $1.99
Not only does this app track your period, but you can set notes, your mood, weight, symptoms, and more for the day! It gives you graphs and charts, too, which is helpful. It helps predict ovulation if you’re wanting to get pregnant (or avoid getting pregnant) and it has a pregnancy mode, which I’m currently using.
This is also available in a “lite” version for free.
Pandora Radio – Free!
Pandora Radio is a great way to listen to music! You can create your own radio and discover new bands/artists that you probably have never even heard of! I’m always tuned into “The Rocket Summer” radio.
Tip Calculator Free – Free!
Figure out how much to tip your waiter/waitress in just 5 seconds! I’m horrible with knowing how much to tip. If you are, too, I’d suggest this app! Customize the percentage, your bill, the quality of the service, and how many people to split the tip between!
Asian Food – Free!
This app finds the nearest Asian restaurant around you! I absolutely LOVE Japanese food and I could eat it every single day of my life. It can find all restaurants from Burmese to Indian to Malaysian to Pho! How convenient, right?!
CardStar – Free!
Is your wallet just completely filled and cluttered with shopper discount cards and the like? Not anymore with this app! Just choose the store your discount card is for and enter your member ID number and you have it stored in your phone! When you visit the store, just pull out your phone, go to the CardStar app, and click on the store that you’re in. It pops up a little barcode that the associate can actually scan! Bye-bye, discount cards! Hello, organized wallet!
WordPress 2 – Free!
Where do I begin with this app? You can basically manage your WordPress blog! Write, edit, and delete posts or pages. Manage your comments and upload photos. There’s just so much and it’s so useful if you have a blog that is powered by WordPress!
Bonus App!
BlogPressLite – Free!
I’m suggesting this app for all you Blogger bloggers out there, haha! It does all of the same things that the WordPress app can do, except that BlogPressLite has a mini Rich-text, WYSIWYG editor! How cool!
What are your favorite apps for the iPhone? Do you think my favorite apps would be useful to you?

What to Pack for the Hospital
I went to the doctor on Wednesday for her to check my cervix and I am dilated two centimeters!
So I created a little list of things you should pack for the hospital when you’re going to have a baby.
For the Mother:
- Insurance Card and Other Required Paperwork
- 1 Bed Pillow – This is completely optional. I just love my pillow and I’m taking it! Make sure your pillow case is a different color than white so the hospital doesn’t get confused!
- 2 Sets of Pajamas – Ahh, I love really big, plain white t-shirts and a pair of cotton shorts.
- 2-3 Pairs of Socks – Hey, your feet might get cold…
- 1 Pair of Slippers – For when you’re walking around.
- 2 Bath Towels and 2-3 Wash Cloths – The hospital may provide these items, but most of the time the towels are too small.
- Toiletry Items – A toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush/comb, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, deodorant, sanitary pads, etc.
- 1 Going Home Outfit – Maternity clothes that you wore around your 5th month of pregnancy.
- Books, Magazines, an iPod, etc. – You might get bored, who knows?
- A Nursing Bra, Breast Pads, Nipple Cream, etc. – If you’re breastfeeding, that is. Trust me on the nipple cream!
- A Refillable Water Bottle
For the Baby:
I don’t know how your hospital works, but the one that I go to won’t really provide too much for your baby anymore. Which is why this list might be longer than others out there.
- 1 Going Home Outfit
- 3-5 Bibs and Burp Cloths
- 2 Receiving Blankets
- 1 Pair of No-Scratch Mittens
- 1 Hat
- 2-4 Extra Onesies
- 2 Pairs of Socks
- A car seat, of course.
For the Father:
- 1-2 Changes of Clothes
- Manly Toiletries
- Pocket Money – For the vending machine runs or maybe the hospital cafeteria.
- A Camera and/or Video Recorder
And there it is! My little list of what to pack for the hospital! It’s really what I packed, though.
What do you think is essential for your hospital bag? Is there anything you think I have forgotten?

Hey, I'm Kerri and I am the webmistress of this blog! I am a young mother of two children and one on the way! I'm working towards becoming a wedding and event planner in the near future, but I also build a lot of websites for no reason and I like to drink coffee. :)
